So, you’ve shared your review items with your collaborators and would like to know whether they’re able to download your wonderful creations? The answer is: Yes! With portals, you get the option to enable or disable downloads for all of your review items, so you get to decide who can and can’t save your creative work.
How to enable and disable downloads for your review items
After selecting and uploading your review items you can head over to your ‘security preferences’. By default, the option to download is set to: ‘allow downloads’. To disable this option all you have to do is click on the toggle and your review items will only be available to review.
What else do I need to know?
Reviewers can right-click and save previews of your review items
Please be aware that if you choose to disable downloads that your reviewers still have the possibility to right-click and press save, however, they’ll only be able to save the preview of your review items and not the original file.
Embedded data is not downloadable via portals
You should also know that if you allow your collaborators and clients to download your review items that they will only be downloading the original files without being able to save and store any embedded file data that might be connected to the original source file.
I’ve changed my mind - now what?
Not to worry, if you change your mind and decide that you don’t want your collaborators to download your review items you can click into your review items and from your ‘security preferences’ turn this option off even after they’ve been published.
