Looking for an easy way to save webpages and anything you find on them from your desktop or laptop to your Collect app? We’ve got you covered!
We’ve released a handy extension for Google Chrome that makes saving web pages from your desktop to your Collect app super easy. Collecting is simpler than ever, and bookmarking your favourite recipes, inspiring art references or academic sources is just a click away.
You can be a collecting expert in four easy steps:
1) How do I install the extension?
1. First, make sure you have the latest version of Google Chrome on your device. Don’t have it installed? You can find a link to download it here.
2. Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is follow this link and install the extension onto your Google Chrome: https://we.tl/savetocollect
(Once the extension is properly installed, you should see a little logo in the top-right corner of your browser, next to the address bar)
2) How do I link it to my phone?
After successfully installing the extension, the first time you click the icon, you’ll get a short walkthrough on how to add the board the extension creates to your mobile version of Collect. A QR code, just like the one below, will pop-up in your screen, and you can scan it on the Collect app (under Settings -> Collect on desktop).
3) How do I save web pages?
Once you have the extension installed, whenever you click the logo in your Google Chrome browser, you’ll instantly add a link to that web page in a board created by the extension (You might have to restart your Chrome browser to start saving/clipping).
4) How do I save media?
You can also save images, videos or anything else you find on a webpage by right clicking it and clicking the 'Save to Collect' button:
Once you’ve saved something to Collect, you can open a copy of the board in your browser by clicking “Open board” in the Window that pops up:
You can also add the board to your mobile version of Collect, where you can view and edit the board.
