One of the things that we’re really good at here at WeTransfer (or, at least, we hope we are) is being seamless. Transfers should be as smooth as silk, without any hassle, because keeping you in your flow is our top priority.
Similarly, you shouldn’t have to worry about planning ahead for the renewal of your WeTransfer Pro subscription - that’s why, by default, all WeTransfer Pro subscriptions will renew automatically.
So, unless you disable this auto-renew feature, you can be confident that you won’t run into any nasty surprises when the time to renew your subscription rolls around.
Automatic renewals are enabled for all the Pro accounts that match all these criteria:
- You've filled in your entire address.
- In case you have a business originating in the EU, there needs to be a valid VAT number when we renew your account for you.
- The original payment was done using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Paypal, Discover or iDEAL.
If you want to check if your Pro account is set to be renewed automatically, you can do so from within your account’s settings. All information related to your Pro account can be found under the Account panel. Here's a visual, stating this particular Pro account will be renewed automatically on the 5th of July, 2020:
If you’d like to disable auto-renew on your Pro account, please see here.
Disabling automatic renewal doesn't mean you can't renew the Pro account yourself. Manual renewal will still be an option if you don't want us to charge you automatically. If you’d like to do this, you’d need to disable-auto renew first, and then, when the time comes, update your payment details.
You can always enable automatic renewal again. We will then attempt to renew your Pro account for you (again, around two weeks before it expires), using your previously used payment method.
