We're often asked if there are daily or monthly limits on the amount of data that you can transfer, or receive, with us. The short answer to this is 'Nope', but there are some aspects of our service that won't be available to you without an active WeTransfer Pro subscription. This article will break down the main differences.
A maximum transfer size of 2 GB
With the free service, you can send up to 2GB per transfer. Whether that be a single 2GB file or multiple smaller files which make up 2GB. You can send however many transfers you like but each one must be 2GB or lower. With WeTransfer Pro, the limit is increased to 20 GB.
Transfers will expire after 7 days
When you've used our free service to transfer your files, they will stay online for 7 days, after which, they expire. When your transfer expires, we scrub them from our servers the same day so there is no possible way for us to retrieve them after this timeframe.
Transfers cannot be deleted without an account
At the moment, we don't offer a delete function for the free service. Not because we don't want to, but because this is strictly against the policy and guidelines we hold to. Double check your files before uploading them!
You are limited to 3 or 10 recipients per transfer
For every transfer you send, you can choose up to 3 recipients to receive your transfer and you will receive an upload confirmation email informing you that these transfers have reached their recipient. Also, when they download your files, you will receive a notification by email about this.
